Registered Charity Number 232265
Head office in Chester-Le-Street, County Durham
We are the RSPCA Sunderland, Hartlepool and South Tyneside Branch, a small, local, independent charity working to support animals within the areas of Sunderland, Hartlepool, South Tyneside and pockets of County Durham and Gateshead.. Although we work closely with the RSPCA National Society, we are a completely separate charity relying on the generosity of local donors.
Melanie
Admin & Media Coordinator
Another north-easterner born and bred, Mel’s two passions in life, although they may manifest in numerous ways, have been absolutely consistent: animals, and creativity. So, our resident vegan found a role with the branch that suits her down to the ground. As our Media Coordinator, Mel brings her creative and communication skills to the table, while giving a voice to the RSPCA ethos - compassion and prevention of cruelty towards animals. A dab hand at creating original content, Mel oversees our social media, and currently leads our education initiative. Mel’s genuine belief that you can approach anyone and anything and find common ground means that one day, we might just change the world.
Her favourite film is: Stand By Me (or Drop Dead Fred, or probably about a million more).
Her pet peeve is: Social injustice
Her surprising fact is: She had a play produced at the Tristen Bates theatre in Covent Garden, London!
