  1. Gung Ho Girls

The worlds biggest 5k inflatable course came to the North East this weekend.

                At the starting line

Gung-Ho seriously fun 5k was at Wynyard Hall and we had two volunteers take it on. The fun run included inflatable walls, mazes and slides.
The whole course was thick with mud and the rain didn’t stay away but the girls powered through and finished the run only falling over a couple of times.
Through a number of generous donations the girls managed to raise over £150 for us here at RSPCA Sunderland, Hartlepool and South Tyneside. The money raised will help us to continue to help animals in our area. You can still donate to their fundraising page here.
    Thanks girls!
Next time it could be you, if you ever fancy taking on a challenge for us feel free to get in touch and we’ll help you in anyway we can.
  2. Charity Shop Chic

It’s finally time to banish the idea that charity shops only have clothes that are out of style. Fashion always comes around, and that a few staple pieces in your wardrobe like a leather jacket or shirt will always come in handy. You can team them with any outfit, no matter the season.

Fashion is for everyone. No matter your age, shape or size and is definitely not determined by your bank balance.

Our charity shops regularly have quality clothes passing through the door, from high street clothing to designer goods at a bargain price.

We even have a selection of ball gowns, perfect for anyone that has their prom coming up this summer.

Prom season can be expensive, but a beautiful gown doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Especially since you’re probably only going to wear it once! If you want to save your money but still look great, have a look at some of the ball gowns we’ve had in lately.

If you do grab one of our lovely dresses be sure to send us your photos in them, we’d love to share them on our Facebook page!

Although it’s against everything us northern girls know sometimes you just have to wear a coat! We have an array of winter coats, perfect to throw over any party outfit for when you’re braving the winter air.

We always have dresses to match any age, shape and size.

Don’t forget we also have accessories, so even if you don’t find an outfit for you then have a look at our bags or we have plenty of jewellery to jazz up any outfit you already own.

Top tips for charity shop shopping

    • Don’t think old, think vintage.
    • One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
    • Try it on- we have a changing room, make use of it!
    • Look in the men’s section, men’s over size jumpers can be great for completing that layered look.
  3. Max and Lola find their forever home

Earlier this month it came to the attention of the RSPCA Staff and Volunteers in Chester-Le-Street Shop that there were some cats living behind the charity shop.

Once they were rescued by our volunteers they headed to the Newcastle branch to go through their health checks.

The RSPCA make sure that they are vaccinated, neutered, wormed, given flea treatment, and they are also micro-chipped. After going through these checks they were ready to be re-homed and the search for their forever home began. It was clear to everyone that Max and Lola wanted to stay together.  Thankfully a new owner came along who was happy to take them both together.

At their new home, Lola fit into her new surroundings with ease while Max was a little wary. It took a day for him to get himself settled in but the morning after they arrived at their new home it seemed that Max had decided he was staying and had made himself at home.

Your donations allows us to help animals like Max and Lola all year round.
